I’m not usually a Dior diva, but the first snaps of the Dior Haute Couture Fall 2009/10 show are just divine.

These impeccable pieces hark back to the grand old days of couture by Monsieur Dior, himself.

Love the dramatic hats and it looks like animal prints and lingerie as outerwear are here to stay. A leopard print ’40s inspired dress appeared in the show, as did this slim zebra jacket, paired with (suck it up, girls!) a girdle (!).

With the state of the economy affecting mindsets and wallets alike, this was not the over-the-top couture we expect from John Galliano.
It was a sophisticated, much more subtle and – gasp – wearable collection. After all, even gazillionaires have to be practical in this day and age. Even with couture.
