Overbranded? LVMH Expands Into Haute Hotels

Big – even really, really big – doesn’t seem to be big enough for LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (even the name is large).

WWD reports this morning that the luxury goods conglomerate has created LVMH Hotel Management. That’s right – they are getting into the haute hotel business to take their brands to the max.

What? You know that we all need branded chocolates on our branded pillows while on our branded vacations, right?

Picture it: You, wearing Celine, Fendi bag on the Donna Karan Asian-inspired chaise, Givenchy evening dress hanging in the distance, as you sip Veuve to re-energize for your evening out…

Two *brand* new and shiny Cheval Blanc hotels will open in Oman and Egypt in 2012.

Maybe they’ll even have a petite version of Le Bon Marche in the lobby?

LVMH is aiming for world take-over, however I don’t think many people will be able to afford its services – yet exclusivity sells.
