As night falls in Toronto, and a new day dawns in India, I look back at images of what was yesterday in the Motherland and today, in the Homeland.
While I love living where I do, it is today that I most miss the land in which I was born.
Holi, the festival of colour, marks the start of spring. You put on your crisp whites and a few seconds later, they are magenta and firozi and maroon, courtesy of powdered rang – or colour.
My childhood comes flooding back each year when I look through photos of the celebrations across the country.
Take a look at all of the glorious ones on The Atlantic site, but I thought these two held a fashion resonance, too. These colours were all over the world’s runways for Spring and Fall 2012.

Colour unites us more than it separates us, my dears.
These images just emanated joy.
May you have it in abundance, as spring seeps in to our collective consciousness.
My thanks to The Atlantic for the images, and the smile on my face right now.
