Admit it. You wish you had it – that Moss Gloss. It’s that look sans flaws. It’s that effortless head toss.
You ask for one of the above, but one woman has them all.
It helps to have a beauty S.W.A.T team, a world-class snapper a beach pebble’s throw away, and a luxe rolling rack of glam gowns – but the Moss Factor is not lost.
You still see our darling Kate, first – she outshines the Jamaican sun and the glitz of that YSL mesh masterpiece.
Here are my fave fashion and photo moments from the June, 2012 spread in Harper’s Bazaar, captured by Terry Richardson. Not sure if he wore a plaid shirt whilst shooting Mossy.

Are you hearing the voice inside my head? It’s the one that needs that sumptuous Ferragamo silky goodness. Imagine it with a pair of skinny white ankle-length capris, strolling the sandy streets of your dreams…

What? Don’t you always lounge around your private beach in floor-length gowns?

Now you tell me I could have worn black to the beach?!

You already know how I feel about a zipper going in a different direction…
I also loved the direction – creative and otherwise – of this shoot. Glenda Bailey et al, have quietly created some of the most memorable fashion images of the past decade. I had the pleasure of hearing her speak at The Museum at FIT’s symposium, last November. As she and Laura Brown zipped through their slide show of fashion photographs from the magazine, there wasn’t a single image that I didn’t recognize.
Bailey is also one of the most gracious people you will meet in fashion. She and I chatted briefly about lippy and life, while she signed my fresh copy of Harper’s Bazaar Greatest Hits. The book was published and an exhibition of photographs, mounted at ICP in New York, last fall, celebrating her decade-long stint at the mag.
Looking forward to the next ten, Ms. Bailey…
