It’s that time of year again, my dears, when my fair city is taken over by gorgeous foreigners of the film-ish persuasion.
These two slim Brits kicked off this year’s Toronto International Film Festival in true sartorial saveur, if the screams of the ladies (and some gentlemen) in line were any indication.

The lanky lads make it look easy, ‘innit?
Let’s hope the rest of the Fest has the relaxed ease that these Brits brought tonight.
Incidentally, Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton are poetry in motion in Only Lovers Left Alive, a floaty tale of two tripsters, that is not to be missed. Tilda is luminous in caftans, pashminas and light-socket hair. I left the theatre with a smile on my face…
As for Mr. Cumberbatch, he’s this year’s catch, with three films at the Fest. He was on the carpet tonight for opening film, The Fifth Estate, in which he portrays WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
