All this recent talk of prints and Princes reminded me of the regal state of menswear lately.

Old world princes are to be had whether it’s Rajput or recent influence. Raghavendra Rathore has the lineage – both royal and rag-trade. His family origins date back to the maharajahs of Jodhpur and he’s trained at Parsons, having worked for DKNY and Oscar de la Renta before launching the Rathore Jodhpur label in the mid ’90s.

It’s Fashion Week again. This time, in India with Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 09. While you may not think of India as the hub of fashion, it’s a market to watch, with talent galore and 34 shows in total . Here are my faves from Day One on the ramp, as the desis call it.

Bal Chauhan – Life is shades of grey, n’est pas?

Interesting, architectural designs. Good ideas and executed well in some cases. Want to see other pieces evolve. Want the styling to not distract from simple pieces. On my watch list for future seasons.
